Day 5 Grasmere to Patterdale
Could have been an easy valley day but with only another day left in the Lake District decided to take another high level option to St. Sunday Crag...about 8 1/2 miles. The guide book, which I am now reading, said "best views on entire route" and I couldn't disagree. The elevation to The Cape was 2759 feet but because I neither hike nor climb I have no idea what that means. I do know tomorrow's walk at 16 miles and 4400 feet elevation is the longest and highest of the walk. Today was dry which made a huge difference. The body has discovered it belongs to an overweight 50 year-old out-of- shape man and is starting to rebel. It's the descents that are killer.
Get me to Shap tomorrow and I'll be happy.
